1939: Graduated, Technical High School, Springfield Massachusetts; No college education.
October 1939 to March 1940: Civilian Conservation Corps, Warwick, Massachusetts
Construction Crewman. Built and Maintained gravel roads, constructed firelanes, and waterholes.
Earned $30 a month. [Clean up from the Hurricane of 1938].
May 1940 to August 1941: Farmhand on Alvin Case Poultry Farm, Southwick, Massachusetts.
Hatched, raised, and dressed poultry for wholesale market.
Started, $35 a month + room and board; Ended $100 + room and board
August 1941 to August 1942: Drill Press Operator, Van Norman Machine Tool Company, Springfield Massachusetts. Set up and operated Drill Press, Milling Machine, Boring Bar, Lathe from Blue prints on production work. Started $80 a month; Ended $300 a month.
